The DOE and Former Worker Programs Upcoming Webinar
Colorectal Cancer Screening Saves Former Worker Lives
August 13, 2025
2-3 p.m. (ET)
DOE and the Former Worker Programs are partnering to host a public webinar that will provide information about the importance and impact of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening in the medical screenings of former workers.
The webinar's panelists - BTMed Medical Director Dr. Marianne Cloeren and BTMed Epidemiologist and Industrial Hygienist Dr. John Dement - will share information about the risks and trends of colorectal cancer and the impact of CRC screening tests performed by the Former Worker Programs.
The Building Trades National Medical Screening Program (BTMed) provides free medical screening exams to construction workers formerly employed at Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear weapons research and production sites, who may be at increased risk for occupational illnesses. The medical screening exams are designed to identify work-related health conditions at an early, more treatable stage and contribute to the health and well-being of these workers. Learn more
